Here is an image of Core C. It is a long core section, so scroll down. The white round pins on the right indicate the depth from the top of the core marked every 10 cm (ex: 600 = 600 cm down from the sediment surface).

Looking under the microscope at this sediment, you would see extremely small particles such as this:

A close analysis of the slide material yielded the following:

     clay particles = abundant

     ash particles = common
